A community centre in Blyth has recognised the success of different cultures.

The Buffalo Community Centre held a multi-cultural information event on Saturday, and it proved to be a huge success.

The centre worked in partnership with Oxfam and other networks such as Homes for Northumberland, Tutella Training, and health care services,and was supported by art and craft stalls.

Ronnie Campbell, MP, and Blyth civic head Kath Nesbitt presented certificates, with the Romanian Consulate of Northumberland in attendance.

Mr Campbell said: “This has been a great success for all involved it was a pleasure and privilege seeing in action the fantastic work the centre has achieved through this event.”

Centre manager Eileen Cartie said: “The event has been a great success not just for the Buffalo Community Centre but for the ethnic community as a whole.”
