A charity is appealing for help to train a new group of bike mechanics.

WATBike runs a series of workshops offering people the chance to learn how to maintain and fix their bikes.

The charity is converting an office into a workshop to carry out repairs and now officials are appealing for donations of bikes, in any condition, whch they can use to recycle or for training.

WATBus cycle development officer Colin Hall said: “We will be able to travel to schools and workplaces to offer training and help to keep cyclists safe and mobile.

“Now that spring has arrived, people will get their bikes out of the shed and get fit cycling, or please donate them to us for recycling.”
