Dancers on their bikes to raise £1k

Youngsters at a south east Northumberland dance school have been busy taking part in a sponsored bike ride to raise funds for their next show.

Dancers at Little Gems Schoolof Dance, in Cramlington, are trying to raise £1,000 to buy props for their next presentation, Showtime 2014, at The People’s Theatre in Jesmond in November.

Gemma Crane, from Little Gems School of Dance, said: “We held a summer fun day at Mayfields Community Centre in July to help with the fundraising.

“Three of our dancers, Elie-Leigh Bryceland, Bethany Monk and Caitlin Monk, held their own sponsored bike ride to help raise more money.

“They aimed to ride ten miles, but they actually completed 11.2 miles with their dads, and raised just over £400 between them.”

A total of £770 has been raised so far.
