Supermarket staff booked into a Northumberland community centre to show their support for children’s literacy.
Sainsbury’s Cramlington colleagues Michelle Rootham and Kevin Kelly called into the Briardale Community Centre in Blyth to deliver a huge donation of books.
The centre supports people from across the community, providing youth groups, breakfast clubs and a nursery.
It also caters for children referred from various services throughout the county.
The donation supports Sainsbury’s children’s literacy initiative in Blyth.
Michelle said: “These books will be a massive help.
“Jean Bell, who manages the centre, was absolutely over the moon with them.”
