Donations help charity challenge

I AM writing to thank Asda in Ashington for allowing us to collect within the store on Saturday, February 18.

This was very kindly organised by Andrea Dunning from the store.

A group of us were collecting for Help for Heroes in respect of a charity cycling challenge that 15 of us are doing in May this year.

This is a 420-mile, five-day bike ride from Newcastle to Llanelli in west Wales.

It is called the ‘Toontotown Challenge’ and is the third time that this has been done.

Over the last two years we have donated £6,500 to charity and we have set the target of £10,000 in new donations, with this year Help for Heroes our nominated charity.

To achieve this we have various functions and the chance to raise funds at Ashington Asda was fantastic.

What made the collection even better was the generous donations from the public.

In total £3,000 was raised for Help for Heroes and from everyone involved I would like to express our gratitude and thanks to Andrea Dunning and the staff , and to all the generous shoppers who donated.

If anyone reading this would like to donate to the cause, online donations can be made on www.bmycharity.com/toontotown3
