THE taste of exam success just keeps getting sweeter for students at Bedlingtonshire High School.

The number of students achieving five good GCSE qualifications, including English and maths, stands at 86 per cent, up from 79 per cent last year.

Several students gained excellent results, including Ryan Ratcliffe who got three distinction stars and three A grades, Lauren Pamplin with four A*s, six As and two Distinction *s, Faye Easton with two Distinction *s and a Distinction, and Faye Swinney with one A*, two Distinction *s, five As and a Distinction.

Head teacher Kieran McGrane said “I am really pleased with the extent of improvement this year. “We are a rapidly improving school and these results demonstrate that standards are rising quickly.

“Students are ably supported by a strong staff and we are looking forward to continued success in the next few years.”
