Harry’s a star turn in GCSEs

BEDLINGTONSHIRE High School student Harry Thompson has a lot to smile about after coming out on top in his GCSEs.

Harry got A*s in English language, English literature, maths, religious studies, IT, music, additional science and science, as well as As in psychology and history.

He said: “I don’t know what to say. Was it worth it? I guess so.”

Other star turns at the Bedlington school include Cheyenne George.

She got A*s in IT and music, As in additional science, English literature and English language and Bs in science, French, religious studies, history and maths.

“I am absolutely ecstatic,” she said.

Matthew Markham scored A*s in English language, maths, information and communications technology and business, as well as As in science, additional science and English literature, a B in religious studies and a C in geography.

Jasmine Lister gained seven A*s and four As.

She said: “I’ve worked really hard for the last two years and it has definitely paid off.”
