THREE learners from Wansbeck CVS in Ashington have been presented with qualifications.

Sam Pears, Aaron Hudson and George Crosby have been awarded the Open College Network Employability Award, level 2.

The three attended one day a week for eight weeks to study the skills needed when searching for employment – completing application forms, writing covering letters and CVs and brushing up on their interview techniques to secure a job.

Employability manager Anne Kidd said: “I am delighted by our learners’ success after all the hard work they have put into the course.

“We will continue to support them in their search for employment.”

Tutor Hazel Ormston said: “I have seen everyone’s confidence grow as they’ve progressed through the programme. It’s been a pleasure to have them with us.”

Sam, George and Aaron are continuing their job search and attending further training to build on their qualifications.

Their training is funded by the Coalfields Regeneration Trust.
