Registration for school choice now on internet

PARENTS of children moving up to middle or high school next year are being reminded that they can register their school choice online.

Northumberland County Council says that completing the process online makes it simpler both for parents and the council, which can allocate places more efficiently.

Parents will also find out about their final school places much faster because online applicants get their results via e-mail.

Each year, more than 10,000 people apply for places at the county’s schools and the online system makes it easier for staff to organise the final places.

Applications for middle, high or secondary schools can be made between September 6 and October 31, by visiting www.northumberland.gov.uk/245

Applications for first or primary schools can be made between November 1 and January 13.

Those without internet access can register by calling 0845 600 6400.
