A casualty had to be airlifted after suffering a suspected broken leg near Lynemouth power station.
North East Ambulance Service Hazardous Area Response Team and Northumberland Fire and Rescue Service were joined by Newbiggin Coastguard Rescue team at the scene.
The casualty was located in a position which was difficult to access and some distance from the nearest road so Coastguard Rescue Helicopter R912 was tasked to provide an airlift.
Newbiggin Coastguard Rescue team secured the casualty into a cliff stretcher which was winched directly onto the helicopter. The team was requested to set up an emergency landing site at Newbiggin Leisure Centre where the casualty was then transferred to a land ambulance.
“We wish the casualty a safe and speedy recovery,” said Northumberland Coastguard.
