A display of books and resources about the life and experiences of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people has opened in Ashington.
The two-week exhibition at Ashington library will provide a platform for Northumberland County Council to let people know about the work they are doing to promote equality for all sections of the community.
Daljit Lally, executive director of wellbeing and community health services at the council, said: “The council and Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust work together to improve equality for all sections of the community.
“As part of this work, books and resources on LGBT themes will be on display in Ashington library.
“Information about adoption and fostering, support services and how to arrange a civil partnership or wedding ceremony will also be available.”
