Fans of Blyth Spartans are being encouraged to help get a new book outlining the club’s history published.
Spartans fan Ken Sproat has chronicled the story of the club from its inception in 1899 up until the end of the famous 2008-09 season which saw the club host then-Premier League side Blackburn Rivers in the FA Cup third round.
Now Ken is appealing for funding through pre-sales of We’re The Famous Blyth Spartans to help get it into production.
Ken said: “I’d like to think it’d be out by Christmas, but that depends a lot on the funding and the pre-sales. So, if anyone has an interest, approach the supporters’ club, myself or anyone from the club.”
Fans can have a personal message in the book, up to 20 words at a minimum donation of £10. For more information email email@example.com. Deadline for messages is October 5.
