Feathers fly at open day

Feathers flew, but in a good way, as Blyth’s South Bebside Care Home invited visitors to have a look round.

Entertainment on offer at the Patterdale Road home included singing, dancing, a tombola and a raffle

Residents, their families, other visitors and staff at the Four Season Health Care property were also treated to freshly-baked scones and cakes during the event for National Care Home Open Day.

Balloons tagged with messages from residents in memory of loved ones were released, as were doves.

Visitor Ian Curry said: “I enjoyed seeing and stroking a dove before we released some to fly home.

“I had a lovely afternoon and met some lovely people.”

The home’s manager Vicky Morris added: “This was a lovely afternoon for all, and families and visitors are still commenting on how much they enjoyed their visit to our home.

“Well done to all my staff for helping make it such a special day for our residents, families and visitors.”
