Young people from across the county will be honoured for a range of achievements next month.

Organised by Northumberland Youth Service, the annual ‘Northumberland’s Finest Awards’ recognise the achievements of young people and lets them tell their story to a large audience of VIPs and peers.

Those presenting awards this year include The Duchess and High Sheriff of Northumberland, Sir John Hall, local MPs and county council leader Grant Davey.

Since September 2014, youth work organisations in Northumberland have been nominating teenagers in a range of categories – from outstanding achievements to voluntary work and leadership.

Judges have now chosen three nominees from each category and the winners will be announced at the event at Newbiggin Sports and Community Centre.

The final awards evening will be taking place at Newbiggin Sports and Community Centre at 6pm on Friday, February 6.
