Fire boss gives update on Morpeth flood rescues – Video

A FIRE chief has spoken about the number of people rescued and homes affected due to flooding in Morpeth.

Emergency services have been working alongside police and Northumberland County Council today after the River Wansbeck burst its banks in the town.

Northumberland fire and rescue search flooded houses in Morpeth today, as persistent heavy downpours continued, causing some areas to experience a whole month's rainfall in just 24 hours.
