Fire crews were called to a fire at a Northumberland factory this morning.

Northumberland Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that a crew had been called out at approximately 6.30am to attend an incident at Precision Hydraulic Cylinders in Cramlington.

A total of six fire engines and an aerial appliance were in attendance.

The fire was quickly confined to one area of the factory and was confirmed as under control within one hour.

Nightshift staff had raised the alarm and everyone has been accounted for.

Northumberland Fire and Rescue Service has worked with the environment agency to make them aware and they have confirmed that the smoke from the incident is not a threat to the public.
