TWO members of staff at a Northumberland packaging company are celebrating two decades of service together after both starting work at the firm on the same day 20 years ago.
Chris Turner and Tracey Bird have seen many changes in the industry since they started work at Blyth-based Assembly and Packaging Services in 1992.
Now a commercial manager, Chris was just 19 when he joined the firm and has worked in various roles in the company including project manager, supervisor and production.
Tracey has also experienced many aspects of the company having worked as an operator in production and as warehouse administrator.
Managing director, Judith Leighton, said: “I am delighted to honour Chris and Tracey after such a long time working here at APS.
“It is indicative of the ethos we have in our business where we have celebrated many other long service milestones and parties.
“Chris and Tracey always enthusiastically give whatever is required to support the growth of the company.”
Chris said: “It’s amazing to think really I was just a kid at the beginning of my career when I started here at APS.
“Our customer base has provided us with many challenges in this ever-changing environment all of which have helped us develop, succeed and grow.
“Every day is different.”
