The new RAF commander has given a flying visit to Northumberland Fire and Rescue Service.

Alex Bennett, chief fire officer with Northumberland Fire and Rescue Service (NFRS), met with the new station commander from RAF Boulmer, group captain Mark Coleman.

Group captain Coleman was given a tour of NFRS Headquarters at West Hartford before the pair discussed partnership arrangements and the work both organisations do in helping protect and rescue people in the county.

Alex said: “We have a long history of close working with staff from RAF Boulmer and it was great to be able to show Mark around and demonstrate some of the facilities and equipment we have.”

Mark added: “My visit reaffirmed the strong ties between the Armed Forces and the emergency services and I look forward to hosting Alex at RAF Boulmer.”
