A GROUP of friends from Blyth are embarking on a mammoth physical challenge tomorrow in aid of charity.

Andy Hall, David Haigh, Jill Hunter, Richard Matthews, Michael Boothby, Tom Dodds and George Reay will be climbing the UK’s three highest mountains – Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Mount Snowdon – in three days.

The friends aim to raise £1,500 for Down’s Syndrome North East, having been inspired by 26-year-old Andy’s brother Ryan, 14, who was born with the condition.
