Fundraising event raises £840

A CHARITY night held at a Bedlington restaurant has raised more than £800.

About 70 people attended Ashianna’s Bangladeshi Restaurant in Front Street West, helping raise £840.

The money will be shared between a number of local charities, including the Northumberland Women’s Refuge, animal welfare charity PAWS and the Special Care Baby Unit at Wansbeck Hospital.

The event, featuring a raffle, was organised by John and Pam Lee, of Bedlington.

The couple thanked restaurant owner Hussain Ahmed for hosting and promoting the event.
