A county garden centre has donated real Christmas trees to two schools in Northumberland.

To celebrate the launch of its Real Christmas Tree Weekend events, Heighley Gate Garden Centre donated real Christmas trees to both Amble Links First School and Amble First School.

Adrian Drake, garden centre manager, said: “At this time of year, we are delighted to be able to support schools within the local community and we really enjoyed picking the tree with the children. It was lovely to see the excitement on their faces.

“Choosing the perfect Christmas tree can be a tricky task but we have a variety of experts on hand in centre to help our customers pick the right one for them. We can also offer top tips on caring for the tree to make sure it lasts right through to Christmas Day and beyond.”

The centre will be will be holding a Real Tree Weekend event on December 12 and 13, where customers can choose their perfect Christmas tree with tree experts on hand to help, whilst enjoying a free hot chocolate. And to keep the kids busy, the garden centre is hosting a Little Diggers Festive Forage.
