Northumberland CVA will be hosting a volunteer fair at Wansbeck Square in Ashington, on Tuesday, June 6.
As well as marking Volunteers’ Week 2017, the event will also be part of Ashington’s 150th anniversary celebrations.
It will provide an opportunity for anyone interested in volunteering to meet representatives from many of the organisations that are looking for volunteers and get more information about the exciting volunteering roles that are available.
Northumberland CVA provides a wide range of services to voluntary and community groups across the county.
Its online volunteering database, launched in January, allows groups to register volunteering opportunities as and when they become available and anyone wishing to volunteer can search from hundreds of different opportunities.
The organisation’s development officer for volunteering, Michelle Cadby, said: “Volunteering is a great way to try something new or share a skill you already have.
“Whatever your interests are or however much or little time you have available, there will be something out there for you.”
The volunteer fair is being held from 10.30am to 1pm. Refreshments will be available.
