A COMMUNITY group set up to save fields in Cramlington from development held a fundraising social evening.
Cramlington SOS, who are fighting to save the fields north of Station Road, held an evening at The Hind in Cramlington, to continue to raise the funds needed for the bid to have the land registered as a village green.
All the tickets were sold for the pie and pea supper, with live music provided by The Main Street Jazz Band, with Scott Adair guesting on drums.
Pat Heard, from Cramlington SOS ,said: “We would like to thank Susan Moffatt and her staff at The Hind for providing the catering, and also donating a meal for two voucher for the raffle, and two bottles of wine as quiz prizes, with the whole evening raising a fantastic £224.
“Northumberland County Council has confirmed that our village green application meets all the legal requirements, which is excellent news.”
