A group of Women’s Institute members have marked the organisation’s 100th anniversary.
The members of two groups in Blyth planted a tree to celebrate the special occasion.
The women from Tynedale Blyth and Bolam Park WIs gathered to plant a white cherry near the rose garden in the town’s Ridley Park.
A special plaque commemorating the event was also put into position.
A total of 18 members attended the planting, after which they had tea, coffee and cakes in Mr Ridley’s Cafe.
And following the event, the group thanked park staff for their support.
