An organisation aiming to help improve health and wellbeing of older people living in Northumberland will be on hand to give advice at an event today.
Age UK Northumberland and the Northumberland County Council Fire Service will be at Blyth Community Hospital on Thursday, August 21, from 1.30pm to 3.30pm.
Free Living Safely and Well at Home Brochures funded by Nationwide Building Society are available together with a wide range of free Age UK Northumberland guides on healthy living, improving energy efficiency; and recipes for winter and indoor thermometers.
Katherine Shearer, chief executive of Age UK Northumberland, said: “We want to make sure that older people have the best advice about living safely and well in their own homes.
“Our staff and volunteers work hard delivering services to improve older people’s lives to enable them to remain independent and live safely in their own homes.
“A range of services help to do this including falls prevention exercise classes, advice on benefits, housing and care options and friendship services for isolated older people.”
