A community group is preparing to host its first arts and crafts fair for local artisans.
Ashington Community Development Trust will hold the fair in the Central Arcade on Saturday, with stalls from local artists, crafters and produce suppliers, including bespoke hand crafted jewellery, cupcakes, cushion, quilting and bags, handcrafted cards, tie dye children’s clothing, original artwork and prints, holistic therapy and more.
Doodle workshops will also be running interactive craft sessions on the day available to all, sessions are priced at £5 per person.
The trust’s business development officer, Alan Mackay, said:“This is an exciting new venture for the trust and the first of many new uses for the premises at the old Central Arcade.
“The trust has major plans to develop this type of project on a regular and sustainable basis.”
There are still some spaces available if local artists/producers wish to become involved.
The fair will be at Central Arcade on Woodhorn Road from 10am until 4pm on Saturday.
