MEMBERS of a creative writers group will be reading some of their work this weekend.

Newbiggin Creative Writers’ Group will read examples of their work at Bedlington Library on Saturday, April 13, from 10am to 11am.

Readings will include poetry, short stories, monologues and short playlets.

Group member, Ian Williams, said: “If you would like to meet members of the group, hear their work and possibly join in yourself, this is your opportunity.

“People can chat to writers and find out more about the group and possibly share ideas and stimulate writing.

“The event is open to all, from people who may have not done any writing, to ‘seasoned scribblers’.”

The group is hoping to recruit new members and to entertain customers on the day.

The readings will take place while the library is open, so there are no tickets and no need to book as it is a free event.

Ian added: “We are a collection of writers who get together to listen to each other read their stories, poems and anything else they might have scrawled on a piece of paper.”

The Newbiggin Creative Writers’ Group meet at 7pm on the fourth Tuesday of each month at the Community Arts Centre, Woodhorn Villa, Woodhorn Lane, Newbiggin.
