HIRST Welfare Centre in Ashington is celebrating after being given a cash boost of £500.

It was given the money from the Vantage Funds to help buy new goals for the football facility in the east end of the town.

Football Development Manager Gary Middleton said the money was a great boost for the organisation, which is a hub for thousands of Ashington youngsters across the football season.

Gary, and Anne Lyall, Chief Executove of the Wansbeck Centre for Voluntary Services spoke to News Post Leader TV about the funds, and how it can benefit local people.
