There were plenty of treats on the menu for care home residents as they took part in a national charity event.

Scarbrough Court in Cramlington was determined not to miss out on all the fun of the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning this autumn to help raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Residents and staff gathered for the event in the lounge of the home.

And they tucked in to tea, coffee and homemade cakes, baked by the chef, as well as residents and relatives.

Activites co-ordinator Dawn Peters said: “We had a lovely morning socialising and enjoying tea, coffee and cakes.

“Residents really enjoyed the event, which encouraged them to get together and make new friends at the home.”

The home is run by the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution (RMBI) for older Freemasons, their families and others in the community.
