An equestrian event held in New Hartley has raised a whopping £1,500 for charity.

A windy day greeted entrants at the first Seaton Red House Farm charity ‘pick a discipline’ horse show.

Competitors young and old chose from dressage, show jumping and a horse obstacle course. There was also a tombola, raffle and a cake stall.

All the money raised went to the Equine Grass Sickness Fund.

Grass sickness remains a major cause of mortality in horses and ponies in the UK, with more than 95 per cent of cases proving fatal.

Seaton Red House Farm sadly lost two horses, Bert and Charlie, to grass sickness earlier this year and a third horse, Paige, is undergoing treatment for the disease.
