Businesses across south east Northumberland are being urged to enter this year’s North East England Tourism Awards.

Bosses are being asked to consider what outstanding experiences they offer visitors as they bid to be honoured in 15 categories.

This is one more than last year, as previously ‘best event’ was judged within the Tourism Experience category and this year Tourism Event of the Year is also open for entries.

Sarah Stewart, chief executive at NewcastleGateshead Initiative, which is delivering the event, said: “There really is no better time to stand back and assess the many wonderful experiences and services on offer to visitors across the region.”

Deadline for entries is Friday, September 6, with winners being announced at Newcastle United’s St James’ Park on Thursday, November 21. For more visit www.northeasttourismawards.com
