Lay members are wanted to help shape new health board

NEW members are required at an organisation which will take over health issues from primary care trusts from April.

The NHS Northumberland Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is seeking to appoint lay governors to help shape the new organisation.

Dr Alistair Blair, chief clinical officer (designate) and GP at Wellway Medical Group in Morpeth, said: “This is an exciting opportunity for members of the local community to influence the work of the CCG in the future.

“Lay governors will bring with them a range of expertise and help provide an independent view of the work of NHS Northumberland CCG.”

There are a number of posts available, including resource and performance (designate) and audit and conflicts of interest (designate).

Information and application forms are available by e-mailing patricia.henderson@newcastle-pct.nhs.uk calling (0191) 217 2683 or logging on to www.northoftyne.nhs.uk/

The closing date is January 25 at midday, with interviews lined up for February 14.
