Legion branch in appeal for members

THE Cramlington branch of the Royal British Legion is looking for new members as part of its 90th anniversary celebrations.

The organisation is inviting anyone from Cramlington or Blyth to go along to meetings at the Shankhouse Club in High Pit on the second Monday of each month.

Meetings normally start at 7.30pm but new members are asked to come along at 7pm on the first occasion and membership costs £11 per year.

People of all ages, whether they currently serve with the armed forces, and ex-service people or civilians are invited to join in with days out, social events and fundraising activities taking place on regular occasions.

During last year’s Poppy Appeal, the branch raised a massive £30,000, with money still coming in.
