A LIFESAVING organisation is going for gold after reaching its half-century.
Members of Blyth Lifeguard and Swimming Club are now celebrating its 50th anniversary.
To mark the group’s golden jubilee, they held a celebratory ceilidh at New Delaval and Newsham Workmen’s Social Club in Blyth on Saturday.
And they are now looking to create a scrapbook and timeline to mark the last 50 years and set them up for the next 50.
The organisation – which provides lifeguard cover on Blyth Beach – is hoping to hear from past members keen to share memories of days gone by.
Officials are looking for stories, quotes or old photographs to be used in the scrapbook.
Any past member who would like to get involved is asked to contact lifeguard captain Michele Weedy on 07525 068586.
