Local firm is rewarded for going global

AN ASHINGTON based manufacturing company has been recognised for its use of cutting edge technology.

The All-in-One Company was a runner up in the Internet and ICT Award at the Tyneside and Northumberland North East Business Awards.

In just over four years customers from more than 150 countries across the globe have visited The All-in-One Company’s website to design and purchase their onesies.

All orders are handmade by the staff of 18 who include two apprentices after the company and nearby Northumberland College established a training programme in sewing and embroidery.

Director Kate Dawson said: “I’m delighted that the hard work and imagination of The All-in-One team has been recognised.

“In many ways we are a strange mix. Many people get to know us through social media and the website, of course, is absolutely central to what we do.

“But when an order’s been placed our traditional skills come to the fore.
“We’ve always had some very skilled and experienced people working for us, but the problem was that there just wasn’t enough of them around.

“There was a real danger those skills were dying out, that’s why we worked with Northumberland College to set up the apprenticeship.”

Kate hopes to recruit a further four apprentices this year.
