Appeal for information after New Year assault

POLICE are appealing for witnesses following an assault in Ashington on New Years Eve.

It happened at around 11:40pm when two men were assaulted in the car park of the Forresters Arms in West Sleekburn.

The door of the pub was damaged and the window of a house in Chatton Wynd was also damaged.

Two males, aged 17 and 19, have been arrested in connection with the incident but police are appealing for anyone who might have witnessed anything to contact them on 101 ext 69191.
