Arrest following murder hunt

A MAN has been arrested following a murder hunt in Blyth.
A 28-year-old Blyth man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 40-year-old man was found dead in a flat at Nordale House, Blyth.
Police were called to a fire at 11.30am yesterday (Tuesday, February 14), in a flat at Nordale House, Blyth.
A 40-year-old man pronounced dead at the scene and following a post mortem police have launched a murder investigation.
An incident room has been set up and police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
Detective Chief Inspector Ian Bentham, who is leading the investigation, said: “I am appealing for anyone who was in the vicinity of this flat and saw anyone coming or going or acting suspiciously to get in touch.
“I would like to reasure people that we have a team of detectives investigating this incident.”
