Members of the public are being invited to a preview of artwork for the emergency care hospital near Cramlington.
Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is holding an event at Azure Garden Centre in Cramlington to give the public a chance to listen to artists and see their design proposals for the work to be exhibited in the new hospital.
Four artists will display and talk through their designs that they hope will be on show either in or outside the new Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital when it opens in June next year.
The event is an opportunity for residents to actually meet the artists who are hoping to be selected to create internal and external sculptures.
Arts programme lead Brenda Longstaff said: “The trust places high importance on providing the best environment for our patients, visitors and staff.
“We are very excited about the possibility of working with such highly regarded professional artists and it is so important that the public are involved.
“Over the next few months we hope to work on projects with local artists and local communities so that they are also part of the new hospital.”
The arts steering group for the new hospital is interested in hearing the public’s views before the artists are selected.
The open event will take place on Thursday, June 5, from 4pm to 6pm.
The Azure Garden Centre will be open throughout the event so people are able to browse.
