Attempted robbery causes injury to woman

A WOMAN was injured after a man tried to grab her handbag yesterday.

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man grabbed at a woman’s handbag along the lane by Hawthorn Road, next to St Andrew’s Church around 9.30am on Wednesday, October 31.

The tugged the strap and causing her to fall to the ground, suffering a cut to her face.

The robber then ran off empty handed along Hawthorn Road. He was wearing a black ski mask, a black jacket with a silver motif on it, black trousers and black boots.

The woman was left badly shaken by the incident.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, may have seen any suspicious behaviour in the area or recognises the desription of the man, is asked to contact police on 101 ext 69191 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
