Tourist attractions in south east Northumberland have been recognised for being age friendly.
The UK’s mature travellers’ review site, Silver Travel Advisor, picked Northumberland’s best ‘silver’ days out – including Woodhorn Museum in Ashington and Newbiggin Maritime Centre.
Seven of Northumberland’s tourist attractions have been cited for their positive contribution to helping older and less able guests enjoy stress free days out, according to a new report from Silver Travel Advisor.
Other properties in Northumberland, Alnwick Gardens, Howick Hall Gardens, Wallington Hall and Gardens, Belsay Hall, and the Laing Art Gallery in Newcastle, were also rated for being age friendly.
Silver Travel Advisor’s Debbie Marshall said: “We were incredibly impressed with the level of consideration and detail that Northumberland’s tourist attractions have gone to in order to accommodate older or less able guests.”
