A touch of luxury was brought to the opening of a new showhome at a development on the outskirts of Morpeth.

Bellway Homes held a luxurious cream tea afternoon as part of the launch of ‘The Haydock’ showhome at their Stannington Park development.

Staff were joined by John and Christina Arkley, the first homeowners on-site, and gave neighbours on the development a chance to ‘meet and greet’ each other.

Built on the site of the former St Mary’s Hospital, the development is set upon 136 acres of green open spaces, gardens, and wooded glades.

Guests sampled a range of tasty treats catered for by Jesmond Dene House.

Rob Armstrong, sales director at Bellway Homes, said: “The cream tea afternoon was a way for us to mark the official launch of the Haydock but also a chance for new and prospective residents to meet each other.

“At the heart of Stannington Park lies its new community and we wanted to create the first real opportunity for people to mix and socialise.

“We were delighted with the turnout and it was great to see people getting the chance to enjoy and take in the picturesque settings.

“The community is the key component of every quintessential English village and when you add a gastro pub, cricket pitch and village green, you get a real feel for what is going to be a fabulous place to live.”

New home owner, Christina said: “We were attracted to the development because it is very much part of the countryside.

“Now, having sampled the lovely food today, we are very much looking forward to the arrival of the gastro pub next year, getting to know our new neighbours and exploring this wonderful area.”
