Youngsters at a south east Northumberland first school are now the proud owners of prestigious Blue Peter badges.
A total of 18 pupils from Stakeford First School have been using their literacy skills to land them the all important badges from the BBC children’s television programme.
Year 3 teacher Jill Preece said: “I encouraged the children to write letters in order to raise achievement in literacy through meaningful writing.
“The children wrote letters about the exciting things they’ve done at school including making a full size igloo out of plastic milk cartons.
“Not only have they received a badge but also a pass for free entry to over 200 leisure venues across the country.”
