Broken jaw caused from New Year’s Day assault

A MAN suffered a broken jaw after an assault in Blyth on New Year’s Day.

A 22-year-old man was walking in Cowpen Road in the early hours of Tuesday, January 1, when when he was approached by two men and assaulted.

He suffered a broken jaw as a result of the attack and received hospital treatment.

The two men then left the scene in a white van. The incident was reported to police on Thursday, January 3.

Anyone who was in the area on New Years Day and who witnessed the incident is asked to contact police on 101 ext 69191.
