A NEW specialist care home being built in south east Northumberland at a cost of £4m.

Dementia care provider Craig Healthcare is developing a 63-bed care home in Cramlington, with the facility due to open in spring 2013.

Cramlington House will create around 75 full-time jobs across numerous disciplines, ranging from administration to care posts and various other opportunities.

Craig Healthcare, which currently operates Kingsbury House care home in Tynemouth, is now embarking upon a major expansion programme, with hopes to develop five more new builds across the region in the next five to ten years.

Construction by Northallerton-based Walter Thompson is well under way at the new site, and it is on course to open in March.

Lucy Craig, managing director of Craig Healthcare, said: “Cramlington House will be one of the best dementia care homes in the north east and will be providing the highest level of care to its residents.

“The success of Kingsbury House has given us the confidence to expand our portfolio of care homes, having built up a good reputation over the years for providing high quality care for elderly people.”

Cramlington House will care for a range of needs, looking after elderly residents who require specialised care, and those who are non-dementia sufferers.

Craig Healthcare is currently recruiting and anyone interested should e-mail Loraine@cramlington-house.co.uk or call Loraine Brunton on 07872 695262 for further details.
