New affordable houses have been built near Seghill thanks to a bank’s funding.
Unity Trust Bank has provided a £350,000 loan to Bomarsund Housing Co-operative to support construction of 12 affordable housing apartments for the over 55s.
Di Veitch, management and development consultant of Bomarsund, said: “We’re very excited to launch our new Woodlands Seghill development.
“Being able to further regenerate the bustling village with much needed affordable homes is great for the local community.”
“Unity understood the need for us to create more affordable housing while freeing up family homes and its services have allowed us to do that at a very high standard.”
Lee Jagger, Unity Trust Bank relationship manager for the north east, said: “Bomarsund is a great example of a community-focused housing co-operative that allows its residents to take a lead. We are pleased to support an organisation working to uphold strong values.”
