Brownies from Ashington have completed a century’s worth of challenges for the ‘Big Brownie Birthday’.
Young members of the 1st Woodhorn Rainbows, 1st Woodhorn Brownies and 7th Ashington Brownies have celebrated 100 years of the organisation by completing a series of adventurous and creative challenges.
The 49 girls have spent several weeks tackling a specially created programme of activities, including finding the most unusual place to have a cup of tea and explore somewhere new in the local area.
The girls chose Northumberlandia and received a special Big Brownie Birthday Challenge badge each to mark their achievement.
Rainbow leader Angela Ternent said: “Seeing the girls take on the Big Brownie Birthday Challenge has been fantastic. They’ve learnt loads of new skills, had a huge amount of fun and were really excited to get such a special badge.”
