Charities receive cash boost thanks to store’s campaign
Asda in Blyth presenting their monthly Community Life cheques to Daft as a Brush who got 100, and runners up The Dales School and Leanne Charlton who got 25.
THREE charities have received a cash boost thanks to generous supermarket staff in Blyth.
Workers at Asda in Cowpen Road presented a cheque of £100 to cancer patient care charity Daft as a Brush.
The Newcastle-based charity proved to be a hit with shoppers having received the most votes in the store’s green coin scheme.
The runner-up charities were The Dales School, Blyth, and Leanne Charlton, who received £25 each.
This was the fifth cheque presentation to be held as part the store’s Community Life campaign, which is dedicated to supporting local community organisations within a one-mile radius of the store.
Blyth Mayor Kath Nisbet also attended the event.
