Cramlington residents showed their community spirit at a recent event organised by a local housing, care and support provider.
The Beacon Lane estate was a hive of activity as residents joined Places for People staff to carry out an estate tidy, and taking part in fun events.
Steven Nichol, neighbourhood officer at Places for People, said: “An important part of what we do is to work alongside our customers and the wider community to develop thriving neighbourhoods.
“The event compliments the money invested in the local playing areas, the fruit trees and vegetable beds.
“Residents can now use the produce they grow to create healthy meals and the children have more confidence to use the facilities on the estate.”
