A couple have thanked a paramedic who delivered their son in the back of an ambulance despite complications with the birth.
Steven Lillico, from Bedlington, was forced to call an ambulance after his partner Adelle Neesam went into labour on September 22.
But she started to give birth in the back of the ambulance on the way to Wansbeck General Hospital.
The couple have now praised the paramedic who delivered their son, Kaylen.
Steven said: “We want to say a huge thank you to Will the paramedic for everything he did for my partner and for Kaylen.
“As he was being born the cord was wrapped around his neck, and Adelle lost quite a lot of blood, but he took care of the both of them.
“We are so grateful to the paramedic for getting the cord off him and for everything he did for Adelle.”
