A kind-hearted couple has raised more than £1,000 for two north east charities with a charity night.
John and Pam Lee from Bedlington, held a charity night earlier at Ashianna Restaurant on Front Street in the town, where they raised £1,180 for St Oswald’s Hospice and The Bobby Robson Foundation.
John said: “We have been organising charity evenings for over ten years now, and now hold two charity evenings per year.
“Everyone knows someone who has been affected by a life-threatening illness, so we’re very happy to be able to support local charities such as St Oswald’s.
“The charity night at Ashianna was fantastic, it was really fun and the food was great.”
Hussain, owner of Ashianna Restaurant, added: “It is great to be part of the events and raise money for charities like St Oswald’s.
“It’s great to be able to give something back to the local community, whilst bringing people together for the event.”
